“The producer who inspires me most is Quincy Jones,” says SHANNON. “He was 50 when he produced Michael Jackson’s Thriller. I still have a years before my 50th birthday, my past pales in comparison to what’s coming next.”

Biography

SHANNON SANDERS has the kind of list of accomplishments that truly makes you wonder if he’s somehow been blessed with more hours in the day than the rest of us. Nationally, he’s best-known for his GRAMMYs (2), Emmys (2) and Dove (1) award. But in Music City, the place that is perhaps the most-fitting for his resume, SHANNON holds an endless list of titles and positions.

Not only is he the founder and program director of Nashville Scene’s “2018 Best Soul Radio Station” pick, 102.1 FM THE VILLE and a National Trustee of the Recording Academy, SHANNON is also a city commissioner for the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation, a board member of the Nashville Ballet, a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Inc. and, he was one of the music industry leaders selected for Leadership Music’s Class of 2017.

If you were to ask people to describe SHANNON, words like “super-producer” (he’s worked with India.Arie, Jonny Lang, John Legend, Robert Randolph, just to name a few), “gifted musician” (he’s served as co-musical director for India.Arie and Fisk Jubilee Singers Annual Spring Sing at the Ryman for several years), “amazing vocalist” (he was a mainstage artist at Nashville's 2018 July 4th Celebration), visionary and mentor are what you would probably hear most.

But if you were to ask SHANNON how he sees himself, he’d probably say “Hungry.” His loyalty to the music scene at-large, his passion for the growth and development of artists along with his steadfast commitment to both the local and international music community make it easy to understand why he’s such a progressive individual.

What he’s already done, he’s thankful for but it’s what he’s yet to accomplish that is his creative fuel and driving force.

Again, just check his credentials. That’s a promise you can take to the bank.
